My wife works at a restaurant, asked to no longer be a server/waitress (she just wants to work cashier and training, mainly) and was given paperwork to make it official. She was scheduled this week with mostly server shifts which annoyed her but she figured it's the last week of it so she could grin and bear it. Well, literally just a few minutes ago, her scheduled gets updated where she's no longer working this week. Just all of her shifts are gone. Is there anything we can do? We live in California but I'm not sure what our options are out here as far as Unemployment or whatever. We needed the possible cash tips she could have made during those shifts for food for us and our 18 month old daughter.
