After covid came my dept went from 3 guys on the floor and 1 manager to just me and the manager. I've been doing the job of at least 2 people for over 2 years (all without working overtime). I'm a good worker. I've done this job so long I'm really efficient and i'm also quite introverted so I don't socialize much. Even before covid I have always gotten good reviews and always had a raise at each review. This year I got another good review but no mention of a raise. In December of last year the company made a big deal about giving everyone a $1 raise across the board. We also finally hired one new person for our department. He actually has experience in our field and is eager to learn. He's a little intense but whatever we don't need to become best friends. I'm wondering if these are factors in not getting a raise. I'm also wondering if I'm reaching the ceiling of my salary. My old supervisor always pushed me to try and get his job some day. He said it's good for $50k a year. That's about $25/hr. With my raise at the first of the year I'm making $21/hr. My current supervisor has mentioned multiple times if he was willing to travel further he could be making $30-35/hr. So he's clearly not making that now. He must be making between $25-29/hr now if my estimates are right. I'm getting offly close to his salary. I have been there 5 years longer than he has. I have also come to the conclusion I don't want the supervisor job. Its 3 times the responsibility of my current position and clearly not a relevant raise if I took it. After watching the job for 10 years I have come to realize to be honest the job is too much for one person. It's responsibilitys should really be split between 2 people somehow. But I'm not going to volunteer for more work without a large raise. With my anxiety I'm maxed out as it is with work and life.
