There are a hand full of people who aren't morning people, myself included, so it's really easy to be like 5 minutes late for various reasons. Anyone that shows up late basically has to do the walk of shame, which starts out the day shitty. These meetings are never fun and enthusiastic either because some people are pissed off at other people for being late but also most people are not the bright morning person types, or whatever. It's a real downer in the morning. No matter how hard some of us try, someone will always be late. I hate how this dumb meeting just makes everyone feel shitty from the get go. I don't understand how management thinks this is productive for the company. Like, start the meeting at 10am so that people can get a chance to wake up and get into a better mood and it would also allow other people time to make it to work. This is the type of company that has last minute projects so oftentimes we work overtime to meet goals. If I have to stay late on occasion for their projects, then it shouldn't matter that I'm 5 minutes late in the morning, if we are flexible for them, why can't they be flexible for us?
Anyone run into issues like this?
I know I should just try to become a morning person but I've gone through 30+ years as a night owl, it's kind of hard to flip a switch and become someone different.
