I work somewhere where bonuses are actually given to (certain) staff. But, for the hard workers lower down in the ladder it works completely differently. I kind of want to know if I'm being TOO whiny but this doesn't sound right.
Say the company does really well, you will get a bonus, usually between £1000 ( or more depending on who you are) but you don't get this bonus as a one off payment. You have to earn it through the course of your next year of employment. Meaning your “bonus” of £1000 can only be claimed once you work another year at £83 per month if you leave or have to take time off, you lose it… a bonus you already earned.
This job advertised “generous reward based bonuses” and its just another way businesses can screw people over and lock them into a job they hate.
I was also told they encourage me to go off site to perform my duties as this is “my job” but said we don't usually pay for transport because you're getting paid on the clock anyway. Like fuel isn't a thing? This is a company that rakes in over £100,000 per DAY.
Yet the bosses get their bonus in 10-50k lump sums every year. I hate the way business works.
