During muslim fasting period, my workplace is doing a mandatory dinner together at 6.10 PM when the fasting ends. My worm finishes at 5 PM so they want me to stay around until dinner time.
I am introverted, and I've been trying to get to know everyone and being friendly/helpful but they won't understand this single commitment thing that I just can't do. I already told them I have a family that is waiting for me for dinner, but they told me that they are my new family.
I escaped the day before yesterday as I got a doctor's appointment after work but yesterday I just kinda wing it and told them that I wanted to go home and rest. Today I got a warning saying that they do not appreciate me being a team player.
The place doesn't have an HR (<20 employees) and I don't see this being mentioned in my work contract. I cannot quit as the penalty fee is high and they are taking my degree certificate as safekeeping.
