Need advice as to whether to push for a promotion

I haven’t been working at my company for a very long time, but it’s pretty basic work and they treat me very well with benefits. It’s a two person office and the manager is quitting and I applied for his position because I have management experience from the past and I know our customers very well. I came with four glowing recommendations from 4 managers from other offices I worked closely with. Our supervisor explained I have to work here for 4 more months before I could move up, but they’re having trouble filling the position. He expects I’ll be running the office by myself for two to three months. I have no trouble with running the office alone because there are days I do already and I’m comfortable with the workload. My issue is that I’ll be staying at the same pay rate for picking up that extra manager…

My issue is that I’ll be staying at the same pay rate for picking up that extra manager work. We’re also in a slow month right now so all that data they look at will fall onto me.

I understand their request I work here a few more months before I get the position and I want to help them out as they helped me because they’re a very good local company. I don’t feel any resentment towards their position on it.

There is another position between my position and management that I could move to now that would include a large portion the pay raise but not the title. I want to know how long I should give them to fill the manager position before I push for that transitional position.

Again, they’re a great company and I don’t hold any ill will towards them. With everything going on right now and my family to think about, a bump in pay would be exactly what I need right now.
