Just need a quick rant.
My workplace has been losing people at record numbers due to lack of respect, low pay, and overwork. My division is supposed to have ten workers and two supervisors. One supervisor retired last year and they never replaced her. Over the last year we have lost members to other competitors until we are down to 7. But really only 6 because one of them is brand new and needs a lot of certs and training.
Another divisions supervisor out in a two months notice a while back and was very vocal that he would be leaving. Our employer did nothing to train someone up and that division has been without a supervisor ever since.
We are coming up on the busiest time of year for our division. We have a rotation system for working thr night shift for a week. One of our guys went on paternity leave last week. Today is supposed to be his first night shift. Our bosses have known for weeks that he would be on leave. They waited until Friday to ask for people to cover his shift.
Maybe I'm salty but no way in hell am I doing that. Evening shift is much more work, shit hours, and often requires us to work overtime to get tasks completed. They wait until the last minute to do anything. Their lack of planning does not constitute and emergency on my end. I go on vacation this weekend and I'm not about to get tied up with this.
Also I got two awards at work this past month but they still won't promote me and are jerking me around 🙁
