Things had gotten worse; after I resigned, they are still posting the audio and videos that I made on youtube, WITHOUT crediting me. I've reported their video on youtube, but that's not even the end: I had a phone call with another intern who's there longer than me and discovered a few things:
1) They fired an intern during the first week since her English “is bad”. Granted, she's not from an English-speaking country, but I've talked and slacked with her during work hours, and her English seemed perfectly fine. Sure she had an accent, but I can understand her and her grammar is good. The funny thing is that the human resource manager who fired her has terrible English, and it's mutually agreed among interns that we can't understand her often.
2) The intern who worked as a recruiter said that the human resource manager would not hire Indian and African workers because, according to the manager, they are “bad workers”, even when they are qualified for the job.
3) They hire unpaid interns to do the paid job that requires years of skill. That means not many people would want to do it unless they are in school and want to do it for credit. That is what happened to one of the applicants: they applied for the unpaid internship to get credit but were rejected because “they are too old.”
It's also agreed that a lot of interns had been insulted, and some reported the manager to the co-founder, yet he did nothing to stop the manager. He did NOTHING to stop the toxicity. The co-founder let all the bad things happen: the exploitation, the insults, the racism, and ageism. I can't believe this kind of company exists, and I don't want to see them continue their business and hurt more people who just want some extra experience. Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
