I work for a “publicly owned” healthcare system. In early 2020 the company had to file for bankruptcy, I was told it was due to severe mismanagement. We were bought out by a larger health system and there was an overhaul of the whole executive staff, new CEO, COO, CFO, CNO, the works. I was brought on in late 2020, and 2021 seemed to go well. I saw lots of positive changes. Recently stuff has started hitting the fan again. Our Unit Directors are leaving in droves. 1 left last week, 2 more are leaving in March, another’s last day is set for July. Our CNO just resigned today. My boss has been gone most of the week, I saw her leaving in a hurry this morning after being here maybe 2 hours. I’m starting to get really nervous about my job security. Obviously we are a major health system with over 700 employees, but all these big “up there” people leaving makes me nervous for my job. Our employee turnover has been high ever since i got here (health care and the pandemic and such) so with less than 2 years under my belt with the company Ive been here longer than most. I feel like I should start looking for jobs in the area. I really do NOT want to lose my job, I actually have things really good, but the atmosphere here has been strained all week. I’m definitely not rich by any means but my current job has been affording me a good living. However, If i get let go with little notice IDK how long I can go with no income. Rent is high, gas is high, food prices are high. It took me 7 months of job searching just to land my current position (with financial help from family during the pandemic). I definitely cant go that long again. Thoughts?
