So I have been working at the same place for 3 years now as a cdl-a driver, a year ago my original company lost its contract and a new company took over and I stayed on with a pay increase, well the honeymoon time is over as the new company is starting to do everything they can to decrease our pay and pinch pennies. I requested Memorial Day off this year and got it but while I was off company changed policy to now not have to pay anymore holiday pay if use pto during a holiday, I took it in stride and moved on cause I was lucky enough to get a 2 week vacation approved and today is the day I return but I saw my (vac) pay that I received this morning and saw that my pto pay is a reduced rate meaning that my 2 week vac I just finished my pay rate is only 1/3 of what I make, so the money I expected to have for bills is reduced so now I’ll have to use my VA pay to cover bills again . Really bums me out cause they have been a pretty decent company up till about a month ago, now our routs are constantly being given to third party driver and all pto is being auto denied for the rest of the year. I guess I’ll start looking around at other places for now, I also put in for a supervisor position at the warehouse we deliver for which would be great to get.
