new GM cuts hours to punish us for calling in or being late, at an already severely understaffed store and offered a pay cut in response to being asked for a raise.

I posted a few days ago about my old GM being fired for giving ample notice, and replaced ahead of schedule, then being asked to come back and do our annual reviews. The day that that all happened, I had to tell the new GM to fix my schedule because she went outside of my availability and assumed I would be okay with working 2 Saturdays in a row when I explicitly stated I won't be the weekend opener anymore. I offered to do every other Saturday/Sunday until we got more people so my remaining coworkers(good friends) wouldn't get burnt out like I had. This is all literally spelled out for her… In the availability paperwork she had us fill out. I come in today and she took me and another pair of closers off the schedule a few days and cut hours…. Now she has the store running with…

Now she has the store running with 3 people when we need 6 to 8, minimum.

She made a point to tell all of the openers and closers that no one would have to do it alone anymore because we're really not supposed to according to her and corporate.
….but is now cutting hours and days?

The joke's on her because we just call each other and say “hey I'm getting butt fucked can you come in early?”
I plan to go in every weekday she took me off the schedule just for the hour or 2 it takes to open until she shows up, and then I'll leave her with her schedule of 3 people.

I don't actually need this job or my hours right now, I was staying for the people, who are all jumping ship. She even said she was looking to “get rid of” my closest friend (the one who turned down the GM job) who already told the GM she was leaving in January because she didn't like her availability. Apparently 6, 8-10 hrs days a week at 6 a.m. isn't committed enough. She thinks all of her staff should have open availability.

The only remaining shift lead she will have asked for a raise after now being expected to open, close and work mids… And was offered the assistant manager job instead, which is effectively a HUGE pay cut because it's a salary without OT. (She would be going from make $18/hr with OT to 40k at 50+ hrs which is like 16 an hr????)

I'm putting in for my vacation over xmas right now. I'm going to call the store tomorrow when I know she's working because she had to cover my shift and tell her she could go ahead and approve it or I won't come back at all.

I really am in utter disbelief that she would do this when it's not a punishment to the person who called in …it's a punishment to everybody else who showed up and now has to work short…

This woman effectively took a full store crew of 20 people and it's the dwindling down to about…. Maybe 5 in 2 weeks.

And now they want those 5 people to do the same amount of work as 20, for less money.

Oh in a few people that did call and did so because their children were sick with RSV.

Is this women evil or just stupid?
