So I recently started working at this tech company in UT. Not gonna name it as of now just in case I still have a job come Monday…but when I got hired here the hiring process was like 8 days total and I was super down because for a tech sales job the base salary was pretty high. This company flys you out, pays for your hotel, your food, the whole shebang while you’re out there and it feels really luxurious…fast forward 2 months & im seeing just how toxic the “culture” is here…since I’ve been hired they’ve brought in 3 more large groups of employees & me and my coworkers I’m close with always wondered how it’s sustainable. Well it’s not…apparently about 1/3 of the hiring classes last & if you miss quota more than 1 month you’re gone. What’s getting to me is I’ve been told that I need to close a deal in less than a week to be able to stay & if not….they’re going to ask me to resign (definitely not doing that) or take a pay cut to the role below this one (which isn’t enough to pay my bills).
I guess the point of this post is to pay attention to the red flags & really look at the company before you join.
