Basically what the title says. Yesterday was my first day “working” at a hotel as a gust relations agent. I didn't really work they just showed me around the place and explained things to me. I was there from 8-13 and they asked me to come back 18.30 to see how things work during dinner. By that point my managers had left and the only manager there was the restaurant manager. Things are pretty straightforward and after 30 mins he didn't really have anything else to say to me and gestured me to leave as he was busy dealing with someone else so I left. I wasn't contacted by anybody to let me know what time/if I should come in today. It's currently 7.50am as I'm writing this and I have no idea when I should go to work or if I should be there already. My contact says 7-15 but a manager told me she'd let me know. I don't know what to think, and I don't want to judge based on one bad day but the place seems pretty disorganised. And honestly idk if the position is right for me either, I applied to be a hostess but they liked previous experience I had with guest relations, plus I don't want to work split schedule so that limits my options quite a bit. I'll just have to be patient, it's only 180 days until the end of the season…
