So I started my new job about 3-4 weeks ago now and today was my most frustrating day thus far.
A little backstory; I was recruited by a new company last month and decided to take a big chance and make the change to a new job that was offering $15K more per year. Only major catch is the commute is 3X as further away from home so my days a 1-2 hours longer because of the added drive time to and from work. I laid out the expectation at my interview that since I have a young daughter and we have her schedule to keep in mind that I can only work 7 am to 4 PM especially with 45+ minute commute each way.
Today I met with one of my supervisors for the first time (my first week he was on vacation and last week I was in the field all week) and I was going well for the first half of the day. Second half of the day complete dog-shit. This fucking asshole starts asking me if I would consider doing “overnights” i.e. traveling to a job location and staying overnight. This was something I didn't even remotely talk about in my interview with my direct supervisor. He also goes on to ask me about having a “dinner” in the middle of the work week. Like what the actual fuck dude, I can't have a life?? I'm just so fucking pissed at this place for throwing extra shit at me out of nowhere.
Same shit different fucking job!
