After an abysmal raise at my last job, i left and found one for the same rate of pay, and first shift instead of 3rd, and 4 10 hour days instead of 5. Ok, great.
It's at an automated grocer warehouse. It was the largest automated warehouse in the world prior to Amazon. We get paid an hourly base rate of pay, plus the ability to earn incentive, based on your production numbers. Ok, sounds good.
Now, in order to earn incentive, you have to 'prove' yourself by busting your ass and getting your numbers up, reaching a predetermined number of pallets equal to base rate. Anything above that pays incentive above base rate. Ok.
But they won't start paying you the incentive rate until at minimum, 13 weeks. They then base your “hourly” rate on your 13 week average.
So here I am, busting my ass trying now, to prove myself, while creating this bullshit 13 week average to get paid later, in the future. So until i earn incentive pay, I have no incentive to bust ass and get paid only base rate.
Such a bullshit scam and they wonder why their turnover rate is so high.
