Worried new on call minimum wage job isn’t for me
I recently started working at a new location taking just a dollar more than min wage for a role I feel is not really what I thought it was going in. It’s far more boring that expected and not using my skills to their highest potential. On top of that, I’m getting scheduled with 20 hours notice and so far it’s forced me to cancel on multiple plans. I feel bad to quit so soon as it’s only been a week but they hired me as part time and scheduled me every single day for short shifts. I also have to drive extremely far in CA (high gas). My initial reason to join was that I thought I’d be doing more work that fit my skill set and was willing to take lower pay and drive far but since being here, I’ve been doing menial tasks and it seems like that’s just the role for the position and not because I’m new. How bad is it to quit this early?
