This manager that is new to me – was on maternity leave when I started working here 6 months ago – comes back and first thing she tells my colleague and I is to come in every Monday and Tuesday from next week for no reason whatsoever.
My position is in marketing and remote and I told my boss specifically I will only take the job if I can work from home whenever I pleas, to which she agreed. I have been remote ever since and so is everyone else in the team.
I told my boss what the manager said and she responded with “head company asked all offices to do this” – yet this rule only applies to us 2, not other colleagues in our team or management.
I said I will compromise with coming into the office for those 2 days once or twice a month and that I feel it’s unfair that only certain colleagues are required to come in. I also said if we cannot reach a common ground I will have to explore other job opportunities.
The boss left me on seen. I am meeting up on Wednesday with both and will firmly stay my ground. Otherwise, I will give my notice.
