Nice little raise you got here….

At the beginning of the year, the food service place I worked at was suddenly bought by a new Corp. I'd worked there for years, but suddenly everyone had to fill out an application to be 'rehired' by the new company. They stopped my insurance, stopped contributing to my 401k, took our free food away, removed any pto at all and basically turned us into slaves. Two months ago I got a new job…insurance, full benefits, even paid holidays…all for several dollars more per hour with a good raise after 90 days. I told my food service job that I would work for them one Sunday shift per month, just to keep my foot in the door. I'd worked there for years, but suddenly everyone had to fill out an application to be 'rehired' by the new company. They stopped my insurance, stopped contributing to my 401k, took our free food away, removed any pto at all and basically turned us into slaves.
Two months ago I got a new job…insurance, full benefits, even paid holidays…all for several dollars more per hour with a good raise after 90 days.

Well, I stopped in on my way to work to pick up something to eat. My old boss smiled and told me that I got a raise with them…our yearly raise. I had to keep from laughing…my raise is less than my shift diff at new job and less than one third of the raise they've promised me after 90 days.
No wonder I have to keep from laughing each time that they hopefully ask if I still like my new job!
