No excuse for “Laziness”

My boss just sent out a mass text going over all of our expectations for the job, noting that there is “no excuse for laziness”. I spent an extra hour at work last night trying to finish up all of my duties but there simply wasn't enough time with just one person so I left a small amount for the opening shift (which was going to be two people instead of just one). I've been really trying to deal with it being a smaller company as they don't have as many employees as they maybe should…but if they are going to complain about the state of things when they leave a single person to close on a busy night I really don't know what to tell them. Work has already been stressing me out with the amount of responsibilities I have but after this text it really just feels like…

No matter how hard I work, if it isn't perfect, I might as well have not worked at all.
