No more mandatory OT… Oh wait, jk.

So, I work at a warehouse, night shift, for a premium clothing brand. We are the only warehouse in all of North America, which means anything you get from my company in North America comes to me first. Company is based in Europe, though. We have been expanding a lot recently so work has increased. Mandatory OT, 6 days a week has been in place through our expansion, naturally. Well, 2 weeks ago we were told that our Mandatory OT would no longer be a thing because they hired people for weekend shifts, but we could volunteer for OT if we wanted it. This made most of us absolutely thrilled as it meant we get our lives back! Today, though, I received a text from work stating my shift has mandatory OT. UM, EXCUSE ME? I just put in for a vacation day on Friday because my wife and I made plans to spend an entire weekend at my parents house to celebrate her and my dad's b'day. Now I have to cancel my vacation day on Friday and take it Saturday, if they will even let me. But, why tf would you make an announcement to just take it away like you never said it at all? Today, I've started looking for another job. F*@# this place!
