Purely a rant.
In January, the company I worked for as a Research Analyst completely crumbled due to comically bad business decisions made by the executives. I saw it coming, but it was no relief to have every one of my coworkers and I laid off. I’ve been on unemployment, job searching for 5 months.
No one. Will fucking. Give me. A chance. And it is making me feel like my life is useless.
I’ve sent out hundreds of applications. 80% of those fall into the ether and get absolutely no acknowledgement. The handful of interviews I’ve had, I get all the way until the final round, the process is stretched out for weeks, and then they decide on someone else.
That is exactly what happened to me again today, after a month and a half of anticipation for what I thought would finally be my new job. I really was a perfect fit and felt I did so well in the interviews and trial case study I presented to the hiring panel. I’ve stayed up late every night thinking about how perfect this opportunity is, how it would change my life, how TIRED I am of waiting for someone to believe in me. Every day I sit in bed and rot while I wait.
