No transparency about benefits?

Applied for a job thru a staffing agency. The pay was below my minimum, but it was 4 miles from my house and I liked the job responsibilities. Ad said temp-perm if I did a good job/attendance. Went to the interview and seemed ideal but the hiring manager said she doesn’t know when/if it would turn permanent. She didn’t know if I’d be there 3-6 months, Or hired on permanently. I wasn’t really keen on that. She ended up offering me the position, I said yes but didn’t sign anything. I was sort of shocked in the moment. Staffing agency said I needed to sign some paperwork. First – the only way they pay is thru a “Comdata credit card” which has all these fees attached/limited ATM’s. I called and said I would rather just a direct deposit to my bank. She said not an option- but after 2-4 weeks,…

She said not an option- but after 2-4 weeks, I could request it thru Comdata. I’ve never seen/heard of this option before.

Second – I called the interviewer (human resources manager who would have been my manager) the next morning. I forgot to ask if they offered benefits. My only saving grace in accepting this position was that I could possibly become a permanent employee. I’m not interested in wasting time. Anyways, I asked if they offered health insurance, 401k, PTO, etc. Her response “you’ll find out at orientation”. So I would have to wait MONTHS, then wait until I was offered a permanent position, then wait until my first day of orientation? That didn’t make sense. Why couldn’t she tell me now? I asked her 3 times in various ways and all she said was “I’ll find out at orientation”. Bitch, it’s not a fucking secret. I would be working in human resource recruiting candidates. People are going to ask me so I would need to know anyway.

Just thought it was fucked up she wouldn’t answer a basic softball question so I didn’t accept after all. Looking for a job blows.
