Now that I got your attention… I feel ashamed for drinking the kool-aid and believing this bull shit statement that all the boomers in my life were selfishly spitting at me.
It’s half true… nobody wants to work… but boomers don’t want to talk about why… which is a long list that includes, but is not limited to, slave pay, unnecessary micromanaging, and terrible benefits/PTO. Who wants to work when it’s no longer beneficial to do so? If I work, I’m poor. If I don’t work, I am still poor, but at least I’m not making someone else rich.. easy choice.
The boomers are terrified because they are losing control. They are mad because they all bought into a system that failed them and expect us to do the same thing. If I had a dollar for every time I heard something along the lines of “working hard your entire life is the the purpose of life” and “respect your boss/job even if you’re not given respect”… I could retire, which is all I want to do at 30 years old.
TL;DR: fuck this capitalist system that has been exploiting us for personal gains while we waste the little bit of time we have left on this giant spinning rock working.
