Not a work story, but a worker’s observation (and would love some feedback!)

I don't think companies care about money and profits. They're making moves to control their workforce and human beings. ​ People on these subs scratch their heads over why companies are ending WFH, or doing a million other stupid things that will erupt in massive turnover and cost them tons of money by the next quarter. But they already have at least 80% of the wealth of the country (USA), right? The money doesn't matter. As a casual observer and long-time abused worker, corporations are happy to piss away money so they can control your daily lives. Commute in, flex scheduling, health care (and abortions!) tied to employment etc. ad infinitum. Money's another super yacht, but control gains you slaves and actual power. (Soldiers, too.) I think we spend a lot of time looking at the money because as workers, we need it to live. They waste money and we…

The money doesn't matter. As a casual observer and long-time abused worker, corporations are happy to piss away money so they can control your daily lives. I think we spend a lot of time looking at the money because as workers, we need it to live. They waste money and we complain because that's food to us. But it's not food to CEOs. I don't think major companies care about money at all.
