I am extremely frustrated guys! I am the assistant manager of a successful restaurant, and a few days ago I showed up to work, first one there, in the wee hours of morning. My phone immediately rings and it is my boss, who informs me he has a family emergency and I must act as manager and open/close the restaurant for the next two days. I was also to create next week's schedule by the next day, because the restaurant is in “my capable hands”. That's fine. But he also promised I'd be compensated for this additional work, and when I received my paystub this morning I did not see any additional compensation!
This week has been difficult, and my immature coworkers are starting rumors that my boss was involved in a bloody fight and was seen in town bandaged, but I'd like to think my boss has more character than to lie to me.
