i work as a developer in a reasonably good company and people are generally nice but this post is about one specific manager. he basically asked me to work on a different project than what i was currently working on and i worked on it in my spare time over the weekends. the policy is that we go through our manager and they approve our overtime reimbursements at the start of month. i had to just put the old project in a working state, and i did that, there were some bugs which were left in by the old team and that wasn't my job and finding them was qa's work. i sent him an email about the work that was done, and i attached a timesheet to it.
but he responded with “project still has some bugs and i cannot get you this reimbursement”
now here i am thinking that shouldn't i get the money for my time? i mean who cares if that project has bugs or isn't complete. that's not my problem. i did the work, and now i need money for that work.
but, i still haven't received anything. and now he just stays out of my way and doesn't really bother me anymore. so i guess that little amount of money he withheld from me, is worth it. if it means that i dont have to interact with him anymore.
