Not in it for the money

In the E.U.  The  company I work for has been suffering a lot of attrition recently , mostly salary related, it's worth mentioning  this is a very Big Company,  they don't seem to grasp/understand the severity of the situation.  It takes  2 months for the onboarding process and about 1 month of mentoring, meaning you have to do your job at half  pace in order to allow the new employee to shadow you,  that way they get to know the ropes.   Another company,  Oil related,  uses the same software, ticketing system, ERP, hell even the same phone apparatus  , they offer more money and more benefits, recruiters are having a field day, all they have to do is contact our staff. The moment someone goes to Oil company,   almost immediately  they are 100 % ready for work, no training, no onboarding, no shadowing .    My old boss left for Oil company…

My old boss left for Oil company recently,  they brought a new lady from another department to replace him, someone higher up the food chain had the bright idea that HR was to change our contract and instead of 6 weeks notice, double it to 12 weeks,  The law states we have to sign a new contract stating that change.

Since I am middle management they came to us first, I refused to sign, so did some of my colleagues New Boss + Big Boss + HR inquired why I would not , I was very vocal and told them that instead of wasting time coming up with things like this why not just increase salary and maybe offer more out benefits like more days work from home, Big Boss said we are not in it for the money .. I just laughed, Big boss got crossed and said we had to sign or there would be consequences…

-of course there will be consequences. However not in the way they think –

Guess who will be moving to Oil Cia. in 6 weeks..

It amazes me that they refuse to believe that people are leaving for more money? wtf is wrong am I the only idiot who can see that the only reason we work is because we get paid?, I would think that if you are in high position at least you would be smart enough to now how the world works, every time I read something about multi million company not knowing why people are leaving makes me think there must be some kind of high level conspiracy of idiocy  giving power to people who are so out of touch with reality..

 Welp time to move on…
