Not sure if this belongs here but, I HATE that “he/she did well for him/herself” is exclusive to monetary success.

Someone will be divorced three times, have multiple children they don’t pay attention to, have a drinking/drug/sex addiction, collected two domestic violence charges, and is emotionally unstable with a personality disorder thanks to stress… Yet someone asks about them and the answer is, “they did pretty well for themselves in the insurance industry” Wtf?! Sounds like the insurance industry broke this person to me…
