Last week I get called to drive 30 minutes for a 2 and a half minute interview. The guy takes me to his office where loud music is blaring on the speakers, door wide open, and simply tells me the hours, and asks my availability. He also couldn’t remember my name and had to ask 3 times start to finish. Overall very rude.
Says he will call Monday. Never does. Two weeks later calls at 7:00am (I’m 19 and and university student so I’m not up that early) and says he wants to offer me job, with an accompanying email simply saying “hi, I want to offer you a job”. Probably the most undermining way I’ve been told you got the job but whatever.
he wants me to confirm that I still want the position. Ok fine it’s been two weeks.
I replied to his email and called him, no answer left him a message. Continued to call him for a day and half with no response. No email response. Couldn’t reach him. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt, this is a dealership and they’re very busy.
This morning I set alarms from 5am until 8am in case he called, assuming he only operates at early hours which was my explanation for why this guy is un reachable after giving me a job. Obviously he never answers the phone or calls back.
So finally after two days of radio silence I drive back again to the dealership and I see him and say hey I want to take you up on that offer!!
He turns to me says oh we already gave the position away sorry. AFTER I ALREADY turned down my other opportunities ASSUMING I have a job now. I had 4 other opportunities, but I figured hey I got selected for the job I wanted.
For fuck sakes I’m so frustrated right now. Like who does that.
