Not taking anyones shit

First off, I’d like to say I’m a huge fan and supporter of this community. Don’t take shit from anyone. First things first, gonna give a little backstory as to what I do that way it all makes sense considering I’m a shit story teller. I work for a well known fast food restaurant and my position is clean up/ custodial work. I start at 5am and finish up right before noon. Great pay, great benefits for part time. My job consists of the obvious, cleaning up and setting up the kitchen and back room before opening. One day I tell my manager that the worker (who is literally like 50 almost 60 years old) who is in charge of the dining room area, is doing a bad job of cleaning the windows. And I bring this up because we got a complaint of outside windows being streaky when in reality it’s the inside dining room windows. When I bring this to his attention, he suggests that we now make it apart of our task to do her job, and I agreed because Im just so used to pleasing my managers. Days go by and I spoke to another clean up worker and told him our new task, and he flat out told me he wasn’t gonna do it because it wasn’t any fair to us considering we already have a ton of stuff to knockout with the 6 hours we work, when he knocked some sense into me I told him I would talk to the manager about it. A day later I greet the manager as he’s clocking in and the first thing he says is, I can tell you didn’t shave, I need you to shave today; yes, my manager is complaining to me that a couple of strands of my goatee are poking out from under my mask. At that point I already wasn’t feeling his vibe, I then tell him we need to talk about something, he responds with a very silent under the breath “oh gosh what now.”
Then I say “I don’t think it’s right nor fair that we’re doing a job for someone that can’t do their task properly, it makes no sense.” He then looks at me and starts talking with a higher volume than he usually does and begins to say that he’s manager and whatever he says goes, and to not question his way of doing his job, he then proceeds to bring up that i’ve only been with the company for a couple months, while he’s been with the company for 20 years and saying that he knows better than me and to not even turn it into an argument cause I would just be wasting time, I told him I can and will mostly certainly question dumb decisions but I assured him I would still end up doing what asked me to do. That same day I began applying for new jobs, got a phone interview and my first day is upcoming monday. I put in my 2 weeks early this month, and the first thing he offered me was paid time off to think about it clearly, I declined. He then asked why, and I told him very truthfully that it was due to our little talk we had and he began to apologize right there in hopes to make me change my mind. He then told me he reacted the way he did because he felt disrespected when I told him I wasn’t gonna do the new job he asked me to do, even though I assured him that same day I would do it. Long story short take care of the workers that take care of you.
