I work in retail for a fairly high end brand. I love the job but the atmosphere is getting toxic and I need to get out for my own mental health. I don’t want to work retail anymore, but right now, I’m willing to take whatever I can get to be able to leave this place sooner rather than later.
However, the problem arises with notice periods. As everyone know, retail moves at a fairly high pace, and my current job expects 4 weeks notice to be given. Most retail jobs won’t be willing to accept that.
How much trouble will I be in if I decide not to give the full 4 weeks? Or any notice? I’m not worried about burning my bridges, because as I said, it’s fairly toxic and I just want to leave.
