Alright…the more I've sat on it, the angrier I've gotten. Full disclosure. I sell cars for a living. I run our internet department, and we all work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. I've been here long enough to have some seniority in the sales staff, and for the last two years I've led our entire group of 5 dealerships in both unit and revenue. You'd think that would allow for some flexibility with me.
Some of my Boss' favorite sayings are “sucks to be a salesman” and “Why should I congratulate you for doing your job?”. Great guy, right? Well, my wife was out of town for work last week. I already had Saturday scheduled off, and the week prior, I told my boss that depending on when my wife's flight landed on Friday, I might not be here Friday afternoon. His response? “I don't see what that has to do with you.”
“Because I have to pick her up at the airport.”
“Why can't she drive?”
“We only have one vehicle”
“Why do you only have one vehicle”
I saw red. The absolute fucking NERVE! I haven't quit yet, as I don't have another job lined up…but I'm done with this place. Profit over people does not sit well with me.
