They fell into three groups. There was the higher ups. They were assholes. There was the incompetent ones who’s salaries and job level probably plateaued some time in their 30’s. And third were the competent ones who don’t get recognized and work a ton of overtime. I felt like this is who I would be if I stayed another 20 years at this job. I will be one of those three groups of people. I asked myself, “Is this who I want to be in 20 years?” The answer was no. I quit and will leave in a months time
