Got a job at a library. Seemed like a good gig bc I like books and enjoyed this library as a kid.
The building has been undergoing construction for about 3 months now. Construction site is NOT sealed off from the rest of the building.
3 days ago, one of the overhead light fixtures magically fell a good 20 ft from the ceiling and smashed to the ground near my workstation/ the entrance to the library. Broken glass and fragments of whatever lightbulb (mercury?) are now spread throughout my entire workstation. My boss told me he would talk to the contractors who are doing the repairs. been 3 days and I am still required to work around broken glass and light-bulbs. So I figured I would call OSHA.
OSHA told me to go f—k myself and that government institutions have no obligations to abide by OSHA regulations.
OSHA is 100% useless and a massive waste of tax-dollars
