So the company I work for has been looking for a new Quality Control Tech. They've had one guy quit after two days and another guy tell them there isn't enough money.
Friday I noticed thier add on Indeed. Been on there looking for more gainful employment. So I applied through Indeed. They reviewed my application last night.
Monday morning I sat down with my boss. Told him I would like to take the position over again. It was my position before they laid me off in 2020, three weeks before my son was born. Six months later I came back because someone else had quit and my unemployment was running out. I also told him I NEED a raise (sole bread winner, family of 5 and struggling). He told me he could give me the position but that I'd have to wait until December to see a raise and I'd have to take on other roles as well.
So, needless to say. I'll be leaving asap. I have no intention of staying until Dec to get a .50 or $1 raise when there are places I can go now for several dollars an hour more with less responsibility. I haven't even gotten a raise in 2.5 years and in that time learned most of thrbromes in our shop.
Rant over. Remember to do what's best for you a d to hell with companies that can't see your value.
