I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot on this. I'm still employed by the company. This is an issue with unpaid travel time for multiple jobs we've done that fall outside of our normal “home” area. Employer claims they don't have to pay travel time if jobs fall within a certain milage range from the main office, yet I cannot find any provision within the law that would allow this. The only thing I fear is retaliation from the employer on this. Working on finding a different job, but it's a bit of a slog. I'm wondering how long something like this takes…

Companies like Allied Barton Securitas that have contracts with Shell Valero and Chevron the best they can do is 16.75 in California while everyone in site is breathing in Carcinogens and in a hazardous environment ? No doubt this will be removed, but it is very frustrating that this rule has been put in place. These types of post typically get a lot of engagement and it is frustrating when I want to read a screenshot only to see it has been removed.

Not a complaint. Not sure if this is allowed since it isn’t really anti work. But like the title says, my store manager asked me for ideas to engage with employees. I’m a shift lead. Didn’t really know what to say besides have more in person 5 minute meetings. All of our 5 minute meetings are conducted by recording over theatro (name for communication device). Thought you guys might also have some ideas. Like things you might’ve liked done at your place of work.

So I started a new job recently in retail. And the rule is we have to stay on after the end of our shift time for however long it takes to close the store – vacuuming, cleaning, counting the till, among other odd jobs. In my last several shifts I worked 20 minutes overtime my first day, 30 minutes overtime yesterday and 12 minutes overtime today. Only one of my shifts did I actually leave on time. Yesterday my manager “helped” me with my timesheets (not that I wouldn’t know how to fill it out myself). She entered the times I worked as they were rostered – leaving out all the overtime I did. So I went home yesterday and added the 20 and 30 minutes for the days she left them out for (noting she tried to fill in my hours for yesterday before the shift had ended). So…

I work in a hospital setting (not clinical) and hate my job due to micromanagement. I'm resigning in a few months and have a good amount of sick days. I don't want them to go to waste and this hospital will not reimburse me if I resign. So, can I just call in and be sick for like a week? Should I ask for bevereament because I know someone who passed and need like 5 days off? Tbh, my ethnicity is very small and there's always someone passing away so I can easily get a document if needed. I just don't want to go to work because of how sick I am of this place.
