The moral of the story: a job is a job, no matter who you work for. They will screw you with your pants on no matter how progressive they try to portray themselves. The story: I work for a left-leaning political organization. We've been WFH for most of the past 2 years, but the President wants everyone back in the office. So my organization is following along. I raised the question of not returning and was sent a medical justification form asking for my disability, doctor's information, etc. I browsed Twitter for a minute while I thought about their request, and I saw their congratulatory tweet. I still can't wrap my head around how they reconcile those two things.

I was on a leave of absence from my work for mental health for the last 4 months and have only been back for a few weeks. Today was payday and while I wasn't expecting the usual payday amount, I figured it would still be decent considering I had 55 hours on my time card. Imagine my surprise and confusion when I saw I was only given about $200. So I figure it's a mistake of some kind and call my company's payroll folks. While I was getting a paycheck while on leave, my health insurance wasn't being deducted apparently. So now they decided, without any warning or notice, that they would just take what I owed all at once at my next paycheck, leaving me with the aforementioned $200. Luckily my wife works as well so we aren't totally fucked, but I'm still pissed that I was never given…

Multiple openings, so we were hoping to be colleagues but I guess not. I don't regret helping my friend, they deserve better than their current shitty job, but I had to congratulate them over the phone to hide how sick and upset I feel. They were obviously drowning in guilt, no matter how cheerful I tried to be. Fuck this entire system.

I see some companies doing multiple interviews at a time. I saw a post over on /r/jobs where a guy did 14 interviews for one company only to be rejected. If I can't impress you with one interview than doing other interviews is a huge waste of time. Also stop doing multiple interviews and just move on to another job.

After working in a meat packing factory for a year, I got fed up working 7 days a week, just to get mentally sick. I was told we “occasionally work Saturdays”. Only to be working 6 to 7 days a week tossing meat into a box. Working only by myself, talking to myself, and listening to the loud banging of machines, for a year. I worked at the raw side of the factory, while there was another side with cooked product. That side got weekends off, while our side, for a whole year while I was working there, a total of 9 weekends off. The reason for the raw side working there for the weekends was due to the reason of, “shortage”. It was complete bs due to me being at the end of the conveyor belt, getting in at 2 in the afternoon, leaving at whatever after 12, packaging…

If I interview with a company and they offer me a salary less than they are advertising the job description, I end the interview. I send a cease and desist to all my contacts in the company. Do not contact me if you lie to me in the interview. We are done. I refuse to give my precious time to employers using these tactics to exploit people they believe will take lower pay. If employers are hiring urgently and need qualified employees, they need to suck it up and pay what is advertised. It should be illegal to offer an amount lower than advertised in the job description.

Title says it all. About 8 months ago, I decided to quit my job and go into business for myself. I try and stick with the “nice” substances, it just make things better for everybody. I take in anywhere from 2-4k a month, but this past 2 I made over $10,000 for my first time ever! For anybody who hasn't picked up on it yet, I'm a full time drug dealer. But I did what I had to do to escape the corporate death trap, and I'm never going back. I answer to nobody but myself, and that's how I like it. I trade and barter for essentially everything I need. So yeah, ask me anything. And before you comment bashing my lifestyle choice, if you had the opportunity to make sitting at home playing video games and getting stoned would you? Because I'm telling you right now it's fun…

Interview 1: “Can you explain this two month gap in your resume?” “Yeah, I wanted to wind down for a bit and had some cash saved up.” “You just chose not to have a job?” “Pretty much.” Interview 2: “Says here you didn't work for… two months?” “Yep, needed to wind down.” “I get it. I took a year for myself the last time I left a job.” Guess which one I've been working with for the past four years. They're not perfect, but they respect my time and the pay's more than decent.
