Wanted to see if I could become a Lego Master Builder

But the starting wage is $10 an hour and goes up to a salaried position of $37,500 a year after gaining experience in the field. Most senior builders are making $12 an hour. It’s crazy how one of the most exclusive jobs in the world doesn’t pay their workers much beyond what they need to barely scrape by. Lego is a huge company, I feel like they can definitely afford to pay their builders a lot more than that.

Concerned about workers rights and healthcare? You should be following the CMS’s proposed 4.4% cut in physicians’ Medicare payments

CMS= Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Not surprising to healthcare workers. This is unfortunately just another reimbursement cut in a long line of cuts. This affects all of us: all insurers follow what CMS does. Understanding CMS fee cuts is essential to furthering the cause for workers rights. Us healthcare workers need to do a better job of educating the public about how health insurance actually works, how costa are determined and how these cuts in reimbursement affect their healthcare and access to it.

Tomorrow I’ll quit my 10+ year job – thank you all

So, in about 8 hours, I'll quit the job I had for the past 10+ years. No one has the slightest clue at this moment. Two things made me do it, but none of those would be possible without the strength from this subreddit, so thank you all. The first reason is that I was expecting a promotion soon, but a couple of months ago, my new boss made it clear that although I would get the increased responsibility, I wouldn't get the pay increase. So, long story short, I opened my LinkedIn to recruiters, got some interviews, and I'll be going to another company with a 45% pay raise to do more or less the same work. I would be lying if I told you I am not afraid of this new challenge after so much time in this company. But I started to realize that no…

40 hours in a job too much, but what about this idea.

It is often said that noone can be effective in a job 40 hours a week. How about then the norm being people have two very different jobs, 15 hours a week each? I edited as someone correctly pointed out, total hours need to be lower for it to make it antiwork.

So I need to vent about my job …

I work for a small family owned beer distributor. I mostly stock the floor and the cooler. Recently they finished a renovation that all but double the sale floor. So on a normal day two people work the register and lottery while two people stock. Just two weeks ago we lost a coworker who worked here for about 3 years and was a great stocker. Instead of replacing him with another person to stock the floor they hired a woman to work register. This annoys the hell out of me because now I’m expected to stock the entire store by myself while three people stand at the register. Ironically the store only has two registers so at least one of the three people literally does nothing. I have no idea why the owners though this was a good idea. Now every time I’ve bring up that I need help now…

I'm contracted to work 40h a week. 8.30-5.30 but recently, last month, our CEO has said we need to work till 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday. We are a sales company and his thought process is to catch people at home but…..I want to be home. This can't be legal but how do I say anything without getting fired?

Got my dream job, then told today it might not be the case

I finally got a Barn Manager job at a local stable where I teach riding lessons. Today the owner called me to inform me that I will not be working as many hours or at all due to boarders (people who rent stalls) so she can't afford to have me work until she gets those stalls filled. they are really petty people and have this super bitchy cliche so I'm glad they are gone but I am so bummed that I am not starting this new job.
