Mostly because I spoke out against one of the managers, she didn't like that and turned around and got me fired. So, I turned around, walked out, and filled out a application for a job that pays 50 cents more. She's the one who screwed herself out of a full time worker, so she better have fun actually trying to find someone who came in on their days off, and came in early when they needed help. She's going to be fucked the next two weeks because I worked every day, 2-10pm stayed extra and never called in. Fuck her, and go fuck yourself Mcdonalds. I came back to this state and was promised 15$ a hour from them, and then called them out on it, when it never happened.
Travel for work – need advice
I’m not really sure if I’m required to do what my company is asking. I am a remote employee and recently my company changed their rules on what we will be compensated for when traveling. I’m required to travel to my home base office once per month several states away. I’m salary and located in US. They recently mandated that I need to travel during off work hours (so evenings or a weekend). They will not pay me extra for this travel time (4-5 hours each way). They do pay for the flight, hotel and rental car. They now say they won’t pay for our food because “they don’t have to pay for non remote workers food and shouldn’t have to pay for ours just because we are remote.” They also mandate that I need to be on site for 5 full days where I was previously traveling for 3…
Sometimes I get a hit of oxytocin in an unexpected way. When I see a haka being performed with gusto, for example. When I play a team sport. I guess some people get that from going to a big game. Musicians feel that way, I think, based on how I've heard them talk, when they go on stage. A feeling of belonging, of shared purpose, of going into battle, figuratively speaking, as part of a team. I wonder if that's how managers feel when they walk into the office and see all their minions working together towards a shared goal. And I also wonder, since these people have often sacrificed their personal lives to get ahead, whether some of them can't get it anywhere else. I'm just looking for reasons. It could also be a desire to micromanage, but they can do that remotely as well by just calling you…
Signs you own slaves
got sassy with my boss.
A friend of mine recently went to an interview for a cashier job that was advertised for $18 an hour. Once they went to the interview, they were told the rate of pay is actually $13 an hour but everyone is expected to make “at least $5 an hour in (pooled) tips.” The location they applied at isn’t even open yet and all the other locations are out of state so I feel it’s pretty deceptive to advertise a job this way. I’ve been out of customer service/restaurants for years but when I was working in that business, the tips I made were never as much they claimed I’d receive in the interview.
I aspire to be like my ex-coworker
Not sure if I can really call him that but I am a cashier at a store for 12/hr and he quit after his first day because he stated that the wages weren’t worth the job and the store was messy (in terms of socially) since an older coworker lady told him to stay away from another coworker because she doesn’t like her and didn’t know that the girl she was talking about was literally his friend prior to him having the job. It’s been 3 months for me so far and I’m desperately looking for a way out (aka a better job) but I respect his tact in immediately leaving at the first few red flags presented
