I felt the need to vent because my workplace is ridiculous. I live in Oregon where the cannabis market is booming, a new dispensary pops up every day, and I thought working at a CBD chain would be awesome. Wrong was I, as their products are painfully expensive, to the degree that no normal person could ever afford them. One 9000mg tincture in a wee ounce bottle costs a whopping $419 (used to be $420, as if lowering the price by a dollar would make people buy), and the 6000mg is in the $200+ range. Their excuse for those prices is that they go through trials and tests to ensure efficacy, and all the products are “medical grade”. I live in south Texas. I just got a job in the front office of a HVAC company. It's pretty small, about twenty people all together. My boss is the owners sister. I have two issues with this company. Rules and guidelines on what we need to do changes on a whim, then they tend to get upset if you do it wrong. Example is being told not to book a certain situation one day, the next they want you to book it and get upset you didn't. Mind reading wasn't a skill I had when I got hired, sure as hell isn't one I've obtained in the month I've worked there. Second issue is they want us to be on call all weekend without being paid. I'm hourly and so is another girl. When I got hired they said very casually that on Saturday we are on call only…

I work in Exte in Germany and most known thing in our department is that you can only have three 10min breaks…But there is a catch! The machines must stay active all the time! So if you want a break you must find someone to swap your place for 10 minutes on the machine which is not possible because everyone has their machine and its impossible to work on two at a time for how fast they are. If I turn off the machine and go to break I would most likely get yelled at by a bos or the worst case scenario-get fired. Do you have any advice for me (except quit), and is this legal?

My coworker in a different role is in sales and covers different regions. Their counterpart for a nearby region quit, so they’ve been asked to cover the accounts which they have been doing. This week they told them they are not backfilling the role and are condensing it all into one new bigger region that my coworker has to cover. No consideration, not even a please from the company. They were just told “you’re now doing this”. My coworker told me they asked for $10k more base salary and were given $5k. The person who quit was making $80k. In addition, they left for a competitor making $30k more because this company underpays sales reps. So the company gets to save $75k and my coworker sees it as an opportunity / that the company really must trust and believe in their skills. How are we so brainwashed??? I cannot convince…

Was there for a month and a half and two nights ago was the last straw. I'm working an overnight shift and my shift ends and we aren't done like everyone has to be out by 5am but my shift ends at 4. So I ask to leave then my coworker who isn't a manager interrupts and says your leaving at 5 not before. Then my manager repeated it and I told him Hell nah my shift is over and clocked out. As I'm clocking Manager says 'Get back to work and quit being lazy.' I just don't respond and keep it moving. Keep in mind I'm in college with statistics class and need to ensure my school work is done. This job is really unaccommodating for this.
