So I've been thinking about this lately, and I find it interesting how society hates actual slavery where the master has to provide a place for the slave to sleep, basic food, maybe basic med (because new slaves cost a lot), and so on. But the person can't leave and so on. BUT society also loves how min wage should be below cost of living, how many parts of the world like the USA there is virtually no worker rights and if someone doesn't deal with questionable stuff which can physically/mentally wreck them then they will be fired/risk homelessness Where the society thinks it's OK to pay the average family so little they have to live off debt or live off paycheck to paycheck. And then you have general media and companies that are trying to actively not do remote jobs when jobs can be 100% remote. And this forces…

I am at my wits end with everything. I have no degree, no diploma and I’m scared shitless. Everyday I wake up terrified of my financial and employment situation. I am in deep need of a job that can meet my financial need. I do, luckily, have hope though. I have read stories of people who have lied on their resumes to get jobs that pay 100k salary. Now I don’t want to be too greedy and foolish enough to think that a a six figure job by lying on my resume with no experience or skills to back it up. But 60k salaried job that I can lie that I have to experience in all while, without the person that chooses to hire me knowing, do some training in my own. I'm a shared assistant between two small businesses in the same building. I recently got licensed and wanted to quit one of the businesses to work more for the other and grow my career. The owner that I was quitting did not like that she was not included in the discussion of me phasing out, so she called her friend and member of her networking group, my mother in law and told her I was an unprofessional pos. I have worked for this company for a little over a year. I have been moved to multiple departments to help get them back on track. I have received a promotion from them to the back up head of the department I work in now. It has been a mess for a couple of years and my bosses want me to take over the department to get it in working order. For me to get that spot corporate needs to talk to me and move me there. It has been two months of having to work with the department head and their ideas for how stuff should be done. Nothing gets done unless I do it. Recently we have had a visit from corporate. For context; I work for a billion dollar, high class RV Dealership/Company spread throughout the US. Ever since I started working here, we would always be closed on Sundays like all of the other local RV & Car dealerships in our area. That was until we started getting complaints & suggestions from customers that we should be open so they can browse and buy RV parts, accessories and of course the RV's themselves. So now obviously Corporate has made it a requirement that we operate on Sundays. It's not even a full day. 11am-4pm are the hours.
