im done working wanna know how was it ?
Outrageous indeed.
Originally this holiday was supposed to fall on Sunday and I wasn’t scheduled for work so it worked out fine. The day of the holiday depends on the moon and it was shifted back one day to Saturday. I posted in my workplace’s group chat about this and tried to find someone to take my shift, but no one was available. I’ve worked part time at this store for a year now and have never called off. I’ve always been early and taken shifts for others. We have a request off book where we have to write in it 2 weeks in advance and I didn’t know until about a week ago. Would it be wrong of me to call off?
I saw a post the other day on here where someone got fired for eating expired food in their workplace, because they can’t afford to buy food. Well, in my workplace we have sandwiches, and when they go out of date by a day, we can’t give them to patients. I’ve been taking them home (lots of people do it too) because my parents like eating them at work, and then the other day my manager informed me that someone had let her know that I take them home and that I need to stop, the reason being that if I get food poisoning from the sandwich (expired by a day), it’ll be the workplace’s responsibility. It seems so silly. They’re just going to go in the bin anyway so why is it so bad that I take them home? Would it be really bad if I just continued taking…
Hey guys, not sure how confusing my title is so bare with me. I got a job back in November as an Assistant editor for $1800 a week 10 hours a day, equating to $36 an hour. But when I actually started filling out time cards, it showed that I was scheduled for 12 hours at $30 an hour. Told my post supervisor about it and also said that I am only willing to work 10 hours at $36 an hour since that is what I agreed upon in my start paperwork. Post supervisor was fine with it and just told me to do in my time card accordingly for 12 hours but cool to work 10. For me, it sounded like a plan, cause I'm not losing or gaining money from it and not working extra than I am supposed to. Also, if I did actually work 12, I…
I'm a Barista in WA State at a locally owned coffee shop. I started this job a couple of weeks ago and have already seen things that shouldn't be happening (cross-contamination, unsafe tools to work with, dress code not in coordination with state law, etc.), but my biggest thing so far is the tipping. Until I am “fully trained,” I can not receive tips, even though I do everything else every other barista does, just half as fast. My manager said this is to “motivate new people to learn quickly.” I think this is a crappy motivation method, but personally, whatever. However, recently a coworker of mine showed up late, and my manager told her that she could no longer receive tips for a week because this was her 3rd time showing up late. The reason I haven't jumped on this more isint because I don't care about the well-being…
I go into customers home to measure rooms for flooring installations. A little dog came out of nowhere as I was leaving and bit my leg. It’s nothing major, but I am bleeding, bruised and it stings a little bit. What would you do in this situation?
