Seems like half the complaints on this sub are about power-tripping retail managers that barely make $20 an hour.
Just another post full of wishful thinking of the way things ought to be, in response to the current issues, at least. When it comes to gas, lowest prices here are around $5.25 and no end in sight. That’s a jump of no less than $1.75 per gallon for “the cheap stuff” anymore, and everyone who isn’t living lucratively — which is basically almost everyone — is suffering for it. People are stretching their paychecks so thin that they’re disappearing. We were already barely making ends meet BEFORE the fuel hike, and now, some aren’t making it at all, because they cannot lose their only income, they’re gradually becoming less and less able to afford the commute to work in the first place. So clearly, action must be taken — and soon. Either gas prices need to drop substantially back to the prices they were before Russia f*cked around, or…
Any Kiwi’s in this sub??
I'd really like to hear the perspective of fellow New Zealander's who lurk in this sub because while this sub is about work world wide, most posts appear to be from American's and their near indentured servitude and just downright awful experiences.. Which I'm so sorry ya'll have to go through my god! We don't have it nearly as bad here in New Zealand but still I dream of living a life that doesn't require me to worry about how rent will be paid and food put in my belly, let alone if I could ever afford my own place. I don't want to dedicate my whole life to something I'm not passionate about just to survive in this world and I hate that that's the way the world works for most people at this point in time. Please, share your thoughts and Kia Kaha.

Doctors note
I’ve had to take off sick this whole week and they require a doctors note so I don’t get fired when I come back Monday. I don’t have $100 for a urgent care visit, and definitely don’t won’t to use the ER. Does anyone have any ideas what to do? Tried looking for some online but I don’t have a PC to edit anything. Thanks in advance.
Productivity has dropped massively, and now the whole operation is shut down. I am currently looking for alternate employment. If I leave, I take their only skilled employee.
Job “flexibility” is a one way street
Most job postings and managers will say they can be flexible and they offer flexible schedules, but that mostly is regarding the employee’s end of the bargain. Here’s my personal example. I’d say 70-80% of my schedule is filling into for other people who are off or called off. And I’ve always been very flexible and willingly to take other shifts. But now it appears to my own detriment. Couple months ago, I was scheduled to work 11am-7pm one day; before my shift I had to take my wife to the airport. Two days before, my manager says she needs me to fill in at 4am-noon that day, and I say I can’t because I already had plans to take my wife to the airport that morning at 7am. She seemed a little flustered at first since I’ve always been very flexible, but appears to ultimately understood. Boy was I…
