Housing crisis in Amerika? I have the answer. No line of dictators or Capitalistic Authoritarians can stop an idea whose time has come. Spread the word. #SecondAmericanRevolution This time, For a Socialist Jamahiriya. This time, for everyone, not just the rich. I am an English tutor in Indonesia and just graduated with my Bachelor's degree last year When I was in college, I took some part-time teaching jobs. I got two actually, the first one is 60 kilometres away from my house but the pay was good around 9 dollars per 90 minutes. The distance was a disaster so I only taught during the weekend The second one was pure exploitation. I had to teach every evening for 90 minutes, sometimes 180 minutes and you know what? They only paid me 2 bucks per 90 minutes! I had to teach a class with 8 to 10 students. I even got a job teaching IELTS and got paid only 3.5 bucks!. This company sucked almost 80% of their profit and gave scraps to their teachers. For example, students had to pay around 10 bucks per 90 minutes but the teachers only got…
Just want to start by saying two or three things 1. This is from mobile 2. This happened today 3. Im sorry for the mainly walmart posts So, from my other posts you can see i was sick, turns out it wasn’t sepsis it is/was covid. today my filter kinda broke, i went off on my team lead. It was warranted from my part, i never got physical or personal. Over these last few days i have been sitting on a weird feeling coming from my team lead. Somewhere between manipulation and effortless lying. you see this all initially started during inventory. i was told to go here, go there, often times in rapid succession like BAM BAM one after the other. All the while she just stood there, didn’t do a damn thing but add some body warmth to the metal top stock shelf. well she tells me abruptly…
Both my parents were born in Mexico and they’re both Gen X’ers. They got married during the 80s and were the cool young couple during that time. My dad worked as a pharmaceuticals sales rep throughout late 80s and early 90s. Around the mid 90s, the company that he was working for went through restructuring (or something similar) and he lost his job. Bounced around for a couple of more years in different jobs and he (and my mom) decided to move to the USA in 1998. My dad has dual citizenship (through crazy circumstances of his grandpa). We arrived in the US with no money and my dad had no specialized skills to market himself, not knowing English made this more difficult. However, he landed jobs doing landscaping work for a few months until he got lucky and got a job with a major company as a sandblaster and…
I don’t want to be a salaried employee
I am in a trial period at my job where I am paid my agreed upon salary at an hourly rate. Next month I will switch over to salary, but the thing is, I don’t want to. I want to be a full time hourly employee. I work in construction management and I’ve found that in salaried positions upper management has no respect for your time. If I work 60 hours a week, I want to be compensated for 60 hours a week. When employers have to pay you 1.5x your pay, it makes them think twice about making you work over 40 hours a week. It keeps everyone honest. I am new to this company and somewhat worried that asking to stay hourly may reflect poorly on me. Anyone ever gone through this thought process and made a request like this?
I’m applying to target right now for a summer job and I’m watching the previews for the different positions, and oh my god. These videos are so blatantly ridiculous. These scenarios and employee-customer interactions are so fake. It’s so obvious that this is only happening because they needed to record this video for the job preview. They really have no idea what it’s actually like.
