I planned to leave in August after my team completed a big project, but I am underpaid and overworked. I need to look out for myself and not make the company look great. Remember, do not miss out on opportunities because your coworkers like you. If they don’t like you after you leave then fuck em.
Talking to my housemate, who is the night-shift shop steward for his local union, and whose collective bargaining contract is coming up. He is unable to attend the upcoming meeting and there is explicit lack of attempt to not replace him with anyone else from his shift for representation. This means that the entire third/ night shift has been left out of their collective bargaining meeting. America is ass-backward when it comes to working. Germany is a fine example of how to do it. Show up 5-10 minutes early to get any and all small talk out of the way and when work begins, it begins. Also, because they take work seriously and act professionally, harassment, sexual assault, etc is very rare. You literally just do your work and go home. As a result, Germans tend to have shorter workweeks and less stress. This utter lack of professionalism in the American workforce is sad…
Apple Park costs $5 billions. All shiny and fancy. Still couldn't make people want to work at the office lol.
