Back in Jan I wa carjacked. I was hurt pretty bad, but got my car back at least. But the deductible is 2500, I can rent a car through uber whom I also drive dor for 869 a week… it will take a couple weeks to fix my car. So around 4250 ( insurance etc for rental). I went back to work driving for uber this week even though my Dr says I shouldn't. But if I want to make the money to get my car fixed. I have to. My car is legal to drive, so no worries about that. But I now have ptsd on top of cptsd. A shoulder that will eventually need surgery. And no idea how I'm going to feed my family or pay bills or even put gas In my tank to fucking work!
I hate how this fucker literally spent the entire entire not asking me a single question about my background and one hour after the interview I get a rejection letter. Fuck you. And fuck this thing of no one wants to work. 150+ applications since January 2022, 3 mental disorders I have diagnosed and I am so close to doing something stupid about my suicidal ideation I think I hit the brink of insanity due to the amount of punches I have taken. I had an attempt days ago and got sent police and EMTs to my house and everything because of the job search and not having a network. God I just need help
The HR Coordinator told me to download Telegram for the interview process, no question of my personal timing or availability, whatever, ok, maybe niceties come next. Nope! She was straight up expecting me to have an interview on the spot over text. It included the phrase “when you have finished reading each paragraph, please send the word 'done.'” I'm sorry, what the ACTUAL fuck. If I wanted to feel like a machine, I would stay in my current position.
red flags? (new job)
So, i recently applied for a job at a local cnc lathing company. i've had 3 phone interviews so far. not one of them has been on time. 2 of them called me over an hour early, one called 37 minutes late. they scheduled my 4th interview, then cancelled same day i was supposed to go in. scheduled another. cancelled again. and now i have yet another scheduled at 1pm Monday. should i even bother at this point? they are only paying $15 p/h. i am 110% sure if i didn't even show up 15 minutes (or earlier) i wouldn't even be considered. should this be raising red flags?
How long?!
Has anyone else had to work a 12 week notice period? I'm 6 weeks in and feel it's unreasonable to expect someone to operate at a high level when they made the decision to leave so long ago.
I own a small mobile DJ business that I operate mainly on weekends doing weddings and similar functions (although I don't shy away from the larger corporate events either). With this being the first “normal” summer after covid closed everything down in ontario, I've gotten booked solid for the nice weather and decided to hire someone to make my life a bit easier. I put up a posting on Facebook and really only got one rely, which is understandable considering its not the most consistent job out there. I was willing to pay up to $15 an hour cash for the right person. During the interview I asked how much they would like to get paid. They said $16. I'm sure I could have told them 15 was all I could do and they would have been ok with it, but fuck it, for an extra what? $15 an event?…
So you want a break huh?
new job wasn’t what I expected
So I started my new job about 3-4 weeks ago now and today was my most frustrating day thus far. A little backstory; I was recruited by a new company last month and decided to take a big chance and make the change to a new job that was offering $15K more per year. Only major catch is the commute is 3X as further away from home so my days a 1-2 hours longer because of the added drive time to and from work. I laid out the expectation at my interview that since I have a young daughter and we have her schedule to keep in mind that I can only work 7 am to 4 PM especially with 45+ minute commute each way. Today I met with one of my supervisors for the first time (my first week he was on vacation and last week I was in…
