You guys are going to get me fired.
So I was talking to a coworker today and accidentally refered to the owner of the business as capital. My boss knows I don't like her. I don't think she knows that in my mind I refer to her by her name but as capital. Unfortunately I have too many colleagues who drink the Kool aid and see her as a person. Yeah she doesn't see me as a person (as born out by her actions) so u don't see her as one. As to why I called her capital. I work as a massage therapist. We work commission most of the time. That means I get paid when I do a massage. Someone was complaining about the laundry. So I replied, “if capital wants that done she hire someone.”
is it all abt ‘Unpacking Privilege’??
What do you guys do to make money?
I’m pretty new to this subreddit, and I’ve been really curious since I’ve only ever had bad work experiences/environments. But I was wondering what you do for a living(or want to do), since money has to come from somewhere? I’m trying to break free from the 9to5 work life (more like 6to6 though) to get more time with my family and just life in general:)
At my wits end
My husband is practically killing himself working 2 jobs because it’s not really safe for me to go back to teaching high school. Especially, now that I’ve been recently diagnosed with asthma and have been recently hospitalized from my first asthma attack). As a senior developer he’s able to work remotely easily and make more in one week as a part time contractor than I could make in an entire month as a teacher. But because we have a large family and a significant amount of student loan debt we really need two incomes consistently to make ends meet. His taking on the second gig made sense at the time was supposed to be temporary. He’s been doing this for three years now and it’s really starting to take a toll on his mental and physical health because he works really long days and usually only takes one day out…
Money Management
My stepmom had a job interview this week for a position doing insurance billing for a specialized healthcare provider. It’s a small family business and they pay pretty bad (14/hr starting). They told her they would pay for her to take Dave Ramseys money management class because ‘it’s not how much you make, it’s how you spend your money that counts’. I think she should have walked the hell out of there. Anything similar happen to anyone else?
