I thought I was sick due to a new medication I was on (I had been sick from it previously and symptoms were similar) but my boyfriend had smoked salmon this past Sunday and he was sick as well. Definitely not the extent I was, and he texted my boss at 6am to let her know that there was no way I was well enough to come in. I was incapacitated, hadn’t slept through the night whatsoever and was unable to keep water down from how sick I was. My boss texted back that our CEO wouldn’t accept a text message call out and I needed to leave a voicemail. I haven’t responded.
Every day I hear this: “Are you at the door question mark” “I will be right down comma give me 5 minutes max period” Like just text dude, no one in the office needs to here your life story. More reasons we should WFH. BOOMERS.
I saw a now unfortunately deleted post on here a few days ago where a person was complaining about only getting payed about $12/hour as a shift SUPERVISOR for a pharmacy! That caught my attention because that is the exact same amount I was offered to literally walk around a ranch all day, feed horses, muck out their stalls, and replace their straw. Meanwhile according to Google, to work in a pharmacy in the United States you need: – A high school diploma or GED. – Formal education or training. – To pass an exam. – Fees to pay. – Continuing education. – Some states and employers require even more certification. So me… a 17 year old (at the time) with absolutely no work experience, who hasn’t even graduated high school yet, could be making as much as a pharmacy supervisor in about a year? Wtf America… Btw I didn’t…
TLDR; “If you’re good at something, never do it for free.” – The Joker I was an intern at a company and knew I would not be receiving an offer letter. Why? I’m not sure. Fast forward to the week before my internship ended: the company hosted an in-house hackathon. There were about 8 projects in total. I as an intern took home the grand prize (a trophy, but still felt really great to win against the Sr devs in the dept!) Fast forward to ~2 weeks after my internship had ended, I got a phone call from my old boss. He wanted more information about the code I wrote. Because I was inexperienced, I answered some questions he had. I excitedly told my boyfriend about him calling me and he gave me some wisdom. He was excited for me, but was also clearly (and rightfully) pissed off: “So he…
I believe I did my math right. That would mean you’d need to take home 8.3-8.4K every month. Minimum wage is barely 15
