I don't know where else I should ask but I trust the people on this sub. so because I applied for the apartment yesterday they're gonna start conducting their background check, and when it comes time to verify my employment, obviously they won't be able to. not an awesome look to a prospective renter. wish I applied like 3 days ago but ce la vie I fucking guess I was gonna apply for unemployment as soon as I walked out of the building but then I thought, that would come back on my background check too right? this sucks lol i've never been fired but I just need someone to tell me what to do first. thanks anybody
At my job, when I do things correctly, I get asked to do more of it, and my duties increase while my pay stays the same. When I miss a detail or something, and I work on taking care of the issue, my manager MAKES SURE to tell me to pay more attention next time. My workload trippled recently, and I was working my ass off. Then, when I asked for a promotion, they put obstacles in my way. I'm so looking forward to the day I submit my resignation letter.

Ive worked at the same place for two years, i started on £4 an hour and it went up to £8 a year in. Ive done all the training and can single handedly run the shop on my own. Orders, stock, dates, cleaning, you name it i can do it. Yet someone who just started last week makes more money than i do with zero fucking training just cause theyre older and ofc its my job to train them. I can barely afford to get by anymore and i feel so low and angry about it all.
Maybe this’ll seem like small potatoes compared to some of the problems people post here, but I’m pretty damn worried and frankly upset at the moment, and don’t really have anywhere to get this off my chest. I’m studying video production at the moment, and I’ve been trying to get a full-time job to just…take a break from school for a while. Maybe save some money, pay off some loans, possibly finish up online in the future. I’ve got a video job I enjoy, but it’s a campus job that pays like $9 an hour, as it’s student employment. Anyway, I’ve been interviewing at this little “start-up” place in another state. Out of all the postings I’ve applied to, they’ve been the only ones to even give me an interview. Their posting was “$22-$30 an hour, but no benefits”. All of their employees are on a contract basis as they…
