Is it ok to buy a birthday gift for the CEO?

I have been working for less than 6 months for this small company (~30 employees). Just a few of them worked here for some years and all of us are so different and although the atmosphere here is ok there is no “family business/ we all love each other” kind of atmosphere here. In this context someone from the management just emailed everybody, twice, letting us know that he is collecting money to buy a present for the CEO. I am crazy for thinking that this is not ok?! I don't think this is corporate corruption but it doesn't seem ethical. Don't get me wrong, it is acceptable if you are an old employee and you have a special relationship with your boss to offer him a present. Of course you should do this in private since you are so close. But for a manager to ask me (ask not…

have to be corporates personal mover .

I'm a truck driver. I make deliveries all over new england for remediation projects (mold, asbestos construction etc etc). I'm very busy. Only driver at this warehouse. Well today after I finish my route I was told I must go to the regional managers personal home to pick up about 40 large boxes. Now I just assumed that these boxes were business related. Like product that was going to come back to the warehouse or some shit like that. So whatever. But this morning I find out that he is moving across country and transferring to another one of our locations. I am going to his house (which he isn't even at anymore) I have to punch in his garage code and move all the boxes from his garage into my truck by hand. Nothing on pallets or anything like that. Just boxes and bins filled with his personal shit.…

Since there are hundreds of applicants for many remote jobs on Indeed, I think the platform should automatically pause job postings that reach a certain number of applicants.

That way it doesn't waste the time of applicants and employers, who could be inundated with over 200 applicants for a job. Some job postings have 400 to 800 applicants. That's excessive, to say the least.

Feeling hopeless

Discovered this sub recently and thought this would fit here. I accepted this bank job 4 months ago, I was told how it would be a great opportunity and I ate it all up. 4 months later and it's just been hell. I dread waking up to go in the morning, some days I just kinda lay on the floor contemplating until I eventually go in 20 mins late. I've also had a history of mental health problems but I think this job has made them even worse. I recently got diagnosed with severe depression and psychosis and will need to be on medication for a while. I wanna call in sick or something some days but I work with someone and I know if I'm not there everything will pile up on him because management really doesn't give a fuck. I already see how much he cracks under the…
